| Siew from Singapore After reading those posted reviews, my husband and I were abit hesitant about The Legend Cherating Resort. But other hotels were full in Cherating so we booked anyway. We were very thankful that we were given a king size bed because of our 2 years old son so that he could sleep inbetween us.(We asked when we checked in) Twin beds is a no no because he would fall off the bed! The room was a new room as the bell boy told us it was newly renovated. All was new!! Even the TV was 32'' LCD. The room is so different from the website and even the bath room was newly renovated. We could even sit at the balcony, and enjoy the breeze. Our room was facing the seaview. The aircon locating at the balcony didn't really bother us much because it wasn't noisy at all.
It was our custom and our way to thank the housekeeping whenever we stay overseas hotel, we usually leave the tip by the TV. They didn't take the tip, so the next day, we placed the tip in the bath room, and they didn't take it again. They didn't take it the next 2 days. All in all we stay for 4 nights. Nevertheless, they did a good job in cleaning up the room.
Breakfast was ok, they did try their best to change the menu daily. We took dinner at the hotel twice, it was quite delicious especially the tom yam soup and the fried chicken wing.
The pool was not murky but there were leaves and bugs which I think is unavoidable because of the wind. Hotels and resorts by the beach usually have bugs flying around, so we are prepared. We spend time by the beach too, there weren't any sandfilies around and our son enjoyed the stay very much. So did we.
However, part of the beach is dirty, as paper cups and rubbish were lying around. I guess those were left behind or carelessly thrown by those who attending team build seminars. When we were there, there were 2 groups attending team building seminars by the beach, and water/juices and finger food were provided. Personally, I think in order to have everyone and future guests to enjoy a nice clean beach, we have to do our part in keep the beach clean.
Internet access is only available in the lobby, so we are ok with that. The hotel staff were friendly, they even recommend us good food and nice traditional coffee which we did. We drove to Chukai, which is about 15mins drive from the hotel. (I think the name of the coffee shop is Hai Peng. The coffee is good as I am a coffee lover.
Just outside the hotel, across the road, there is a few Malay restaurants. We took dinner once at this restaurant. (I can't recall the name) but is just opposite Peninsula Seafood restaruant. It has a big screen TV, so you can't miss it. The food is not bad. We tried to go to Peninula Seafood (no need to cross the road, just a 5 mins walk out from the hotel) twice but it was closed. Once it was their rest day, another we were too earlier. They are opened only 6pm.
Overall, we are happy during our stay and we are looking forward to come back to The Legend Cherating probably end of the year or next.
Once again, I would like to say a BIG Thank You to the hotel staff for making our trip a memorable one. :-) |
